Where Does Your Turf Come From?

Our synthetic grass is manufactured in the USA. Southwest Greens is part of Shaw Industries (a Berkshire Hathaway company), and all fibers are made and processed in American Shaw plants. Our modern production lines feature automation, Lean/Six Sigma oversight, and internal testing labs to hit the highest standards in the industy. When you arrange an artificial turf installation with Southwest Greens, you can trust that you’re getting high-quality, made-in-USA turf.

American Manufacturing: We use Shaw’s U.S. plants (ours is in Dalton, GA) for turf production. Shaw’s strategic investments and modern processes keep our fibers consistent and high-quality.

Vertical Quality Control: As part of Shaw, we oversee production from start to finish. That enables us to maintain consistent fiber quality and uniform color and pile height across batches, quick turnaround for service requests, and clear manufacturing traceability to resolve problems quickly.

Rigorously Tested: Before any turf arrives, it’s verified by Shaw’s laboratory and field evaluations. We test in a 13,000 sq. ft. indoor facility and 18,000 sq. ft. of outdoor test sites to replicate long-term wear. Each fiber undergoes tests for UV stability, resilience, and ball/athlete behavior, so your lawn or putting green looks and performs like real grass without wilting or fading.

CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION

We continually refine our turf to be better-performing and long-lasting. Some of our latest innovations include:

Bolt™ Fiber (High-Performance: The patented Bolt cross-section gives our turf its edge. It retains its shape longer than standard turf, surpassing conventional wear tests by 2x. Its special cross-section diffuses light to minimize glare, giving the yard a true-grass sheen.

HydroChill® Cooling: We offer special HydroChill® granules that drop surface temps up to 50°F. This innovative moisture-activated process is ideal for hot climates and full-sun areas, keeping your lawn walkable for pets and people.

Pet-Friendly Drainage: Our pet turf products are crafted for quick drainage and easy cleanup. It eliminates digging and dirty paws. And how our artificial grass naturally sheds pet waste prevents odor buildup and dead patches.

Creaturf™ Personalization: Want your turf to reflect your personal style or company logo? Our Creaturf™ program lets you personalize turf with logos, patterns, or custom colors. From custom logos on backyard putting greens to distinctive pet turf, this feature offers unlimited creative control.

PERSONALIZED TO YOU

We collaborate with clients, golf pros, and experts to ensure our artificial turf solve practical challenges. Feedback from golfers prompted a new “spring green” color option for tee turf that creates visual harmony. Little details like this make us trusted by Asheville professionals, residents, and designers.

We also offer specialized systems for every application — backyard putting greens, golf courses, pet areas, playgrounds, commercial lawns, game courts.

We take fake grass installation seriously. Done right, it’s a fine art. Our synthetic turf behave like pro golf surfaces. That’s why the pros like Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sörenstam choose our turf. And because our connection to Shaw gives us unmatched flexibility, we can customize every layer of your turf.

LOOKING AHEAD: 2026 AND BEYOND

We never stop innovating at Southwest Greens. Big advancements are coming in 2026! Shaw Sports Turf has already announced that the public can select new field designs and that a next-gen “Game ON” synthetic turf (made in Calhoun, GA) will launch in 2026.

This playful spirit and technology will make their way to landscaping products soon. We can’t reveal everything just yet, but rest assured, our R&D team is hard at work on the next generation of artificial grass.

Future turf will combine science with customer-driven input, so your next Southwest Greens lawn or putting green will be better than ever.
